:دکتر اردشیر بابک نیا، پزشک، استاد دانشگاه، پژوهشگر علمی و تاریخی، کوشنده فرهنگی و هنری، جایزه نوروز بهترین شخصیت سال در رشته فرهنگ و هنر را دریافت کرده اند به خاطر
ـ بیش از یک دهه پژوهش های بنیادی و گسترده، در ارتباط با فاجعه ی هولاکاست، و دیگر نسل کشی ها در خاورمیانه، با هدف ریشه یابی این نوع فجایع بشری
ـ چهار جلد کتاب در مورد هولوکاست به زبان فارسی
ـ تاسیس چندین موسسه فرهنگی ـ علمی، و اجتماعی
ـ حمایت از موسسات فرهنگی و اجتماعی، و یا همکاری با آن ها
ـ جمع آوری و حفظ مجموعه ای از آثار تاریخی ایران
ـ خلق آثاری زیبا و شگفت انگیز بر روی شیشه و سرامیک با مفاهیمی در ارتباط با میراث فرهنگی و تاریخی کهن ایرانیان
دکتر اردشیر بایک نیا، یکی از شخصیت های ایراندوست؛ پرکار، و موفق، در زمینه های مختلف، در خارج کشور هستند.
ایشان سال ها تلاش خستگی ناپذیر در ارتباط با مسایل علمی و پزشکی داشته اند و به عنوان یکی از پیشگامان استفاده از پرتو لیزر در آمریکا شناخته می شوند.
دکتر بابک نیا علاوه بر فعالیت های دانشگاهی و پزشکی، بیشترین اوقات زندگی خود را صرف پژوهش های فرهنگی و حقوق بشری؛ چه در ارتباط با ایران و چه در ارتباط با دیگر کشورهای خاورمیانه کرده اند.
یکی از مهمترین کارهای دکتر بابک نیا، کار پژوهشی ایشان در ارتباط با فاجعه ی تاریخی هولاکاست و نسل کشی هایی ست که بشریت با آن روبرو بوده است. دقت و موشکافی ایشان، و بهره گیری از اسناد و مدارک روشن و غیرقابل انکار در این کتاب ها (که به عنوان کتاب های مرجع نیز شناخته شده) تاکیدی ست بر اهمیت کار ایشان.
یکی از مهمترین بخش این پژوهش ها، را می توان در کتاب «واکنش جهانیان به هولاکاست» خواند؛ جایی که نشان می دهد؛ هنگامی که لازم بود دولت های (حتی دموکرات) جهان واکنشی قاطعانه و به هنگام به فاجعه هولوکاست نشان دهند؛ ساکت بوده اند.
انتشار این کتاب ها به زبان فارسی نیز کاملا هوشیارانه است. این مجموعه اگر چه ظاهرا ربط مستقیمی با ایران ندارد اما از آنجا که یکی از زخم های عمیق بر پیکر بشریت را که ناشی از تبعیض های نژادی و مذهبی ست برملا می کند؛ برای ایرانیان که خود گرفتار تبعیض های یک حکومت مذهبی می باشند می تواند نقشی آگاهی دهنده و موثر داشته باشد. به ويژه که در ایران پس از انقلاب سعی می شود به نوعی مساله هولوکاست را غیرواقعی نشان دهند.
گذشته از آن همانطور که دکتر بابک نیا بارها گفته است، «انتشار این پژوهش ها برای نشان دادن ناانسانی ها و هولاکاست های دیگری ست که در این زمانه به ويژه در کشورهای خاورمیانه بوجود آمده و یا خطر بوجود آمدنش هست».
در کتاب «ناانسانیت» یکی دیگر از مجموعه ی کتاب های مربوط به هولاکاست، دکتر بابک نیا با هوشیاری و دقت فراوان سعی کرده تا با استفاده از اصل گفته های قربانیان هولاکاست، و یا نامه ها و نقل قول هایی از خاطرات آن ها، همراه با نقاشی های کم نظیر اردشیر محصص، (گرافیست هنرمند ایرانی)، این نوع فجایع را ملموس و زنده نگاهدارد.
از دیگر کارهای با ارزش دکتر بابک نیا، که در سال های اخیر به آن پرداخته، خلق آثار هنری بر شیشه و سرامیک است؛ آثاری با مفاهیمی در مورد حقوق بشر، صلح جهانی، حقوق زنان و کودکان، محیط زیست، و میراث های فرهنگی و تاریخی ایران.
بسیاری از کارهای هنری بابک نیا در موردایران به نوعی بازسازی هنرهای دوران باستان می باشد، هنرهایی که بر اثر حوادث و یا بی توجهی و یا نفرت حکومت های ایران ستیز مسلط بر ایران ویران و یا نابود شده است.
بابک نیا عاشق هنر است. او می گوید استفاده از هنر علاوه بر ستایش زیبایی، می تواند به عنوان ابزاری قدرتمند برای نشان دادن تراژدی های انسانی از یک سو، و برقراری ارتباطی مهرآمیز بین انسان ها از سوی دیگر مفید و اثرگذار باشد.
زندگینامه کوتاه دکتر اردشیر بابک نیا
دکتر بابک نیا دکترای پزشکی خود را در سال 1970 از دانشگاه تهران دریافت کرد و دوره تخصصی خود را در دانشگاه جانز هاپکینز مریلند آمریکا، در زمینه ی باروری زنان گذرانده است.
بابک نیا در 25 سال گذشته در نیوپورت بیچ، کالیفرنیا طبابت کرده و یکی از پیشگامان جراحی لیزر در پزشکی از اوایل دهه 1980 می باشد. او همچنین از متخصصین طب باروری ست و سال ها به عنوان دانشیار بالینی در دانشکده پزشکی دانشگاه کالیفرنیا مشغول کار بوده است.
وی علاوه بر انتشار بیش از 50 مقاله پژوهشی و بالینی در مورد سلامت و تندرستی زنان در مجلات معتبر آمریکا، نویسنده بیش از دوازده کتاب در زمینه سلامت زنان است.
دکتر بابک نیا برنده جایزه ملی تحقیقات پزشکی برای برتری در تحقیقات پزشکی از کالج آمریکایی متخصصان زنان و زایمان می باشد.
فعالیت ها و پژوهش های فرهنگی
دکتر بابک نیا علاوه بر کارها و پژوهش های پزشکی از اوایل سال هشتاد میلادی به کارهای فرهنگی و حقوق بشری نیز مشغول بوده و بنیانگذار، مدیر اجرایی و یا عضو ده ها سازمان بوده است از جمله:بنیانگذار و مدیر اجرایی بنیاد میراث پارسیان (1987-2007)مدیر بنیاد حفظ آثار هنری ایرانی
پژوهش درباره مشارکت و تاثیر یهودیان بر زندگی و فرهنگ ایرانیان در بیش از 2500 سال زندگی آن ها در ایران و انتشار چندین کتاب در این زمنیه.
بیش از یک دهه پژوهش در مورد موضوع هولوکاست و انتشار کتاب هایی به زبان فارسی در مورد هولوکاست و دیگر نسل کشی های صد ساله اخیر.

در چند سال گذشته، بابک نیا به کار ساختن آثاری هنری بر روی شیشه و سرامیک سندبلاست مشغول بوده است. آثاری با مفاهیمی در مورد حقوق بشر، صلح جهانی، محیط زیست و حقوق زنان و کودکان، حقوق پناهندگان و آثاری در ارتباط با میراث فرهنگی و تاریخی ایرانیان.
Short biography of Ardeshir Babaknia
Dr. Ardeshir Babaknia, MD, is a Professor of Health Sciences, Medical Director and master of Health Sciences. Dr. Babaknia is also a special advisor to the Chapman University Provost in Health Initiative, Irvine CA.
Dr. Babaknia received his medical training at Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, US. He was trained in women’s reproductive health, and has been practicing Reproductive Medicine in Newport Beach, California for the last 25 years as well as serving as a Clinical Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, University of California in Irvine. Dr. Babaknia is one of the pioneers of minimally invasive laser surgery in medicine since the early 1980s. In addition to publishing more than 50 research and clinical articles on women’s health and wellness in peer reviewed journals, he is the author and co-author of over a dozen books in the field of women’s health, including two books on women’s health on nutrition: Soy: The Right Protein for Improving Your Health and Soy: One Choice for Menopausal Health.
He is the recipient of the National Medical Research Award for excellence in medical research from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Babaknia has been a patron of the arts and of literature for many years. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Persian Heritage Foundation (1987-2007) and the Graduate Society (Society for Iranian Jewish University Graduates) studying Jewish contributions and influences on Iranian life and culture in their over 2500 years of living in Iran. This culminated in the publication of several books on the subject (1991-2012), and he became a member of the Board of Directors of several other scientific, charity and cultural Foundations.
Dr. Babaknia has served as the Chairman of the Institute for the Holocaust Studies in Washington D.C. (2011-2013), as well as the Chairman of the Holocaust Remembrance Day of Orange County, California (1993-2013). He has been on an international book tour promoting genocide awareness and prevention, (2012-2020). Dr. Babaknia is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Menorah Foundation with the specific mission of spreading the truth about the Holocaust and other genocides in the Middle East.
His dedicated studies and research on the subject of the Holocaust for over a decade culminated in the publication of a 4-volume groundbreaking book in Farsi about the Holocaust and other genocides of the last one hundred years (Wyman, 2012), which was awarded reference book of the year by the Association of the Jewish Librarians (2013).
In his book, Humanity, NOT, released January 2014, Dr. Babaknia has tried to weave in actual words from victims of the Holocaust along with letters and quotes from diaries of the victims, perpetrators, bystanders, and survivors of the Holocaust, accompanied by powerful paintings by renowned Iranian graphic artist Ardeshir Mohasses, in a way that touches the personal stories of man’s inhumanity to man, the brutality of the Holocaust, and the fragility of humanity. He believes reading first-hand horrifying experiences of the victims as well as some thoughts from philosophers and scholars helps us understand that the “reaction to the Holocaust has to be other than mere horror and revulsion. It has to be more than empathy with the victims, sharing their fear and some part of their actual suffering.”
In the past few years, he has embarked on one of his lifetime dreams, a journey long in making; creating sandblasted glass and ceramics artworks on social justice and human rights, global peace, women’s rights, children’s rights, the global climate crisis, water rights, refugee life and rights, and many other pressing social issues of our time.
